Step into Hall Creek and journey back in time! Creek Hikes at Severson Dells Nature Center follow the 458 million year old natural rock formations called Dells. Discover marine fossils, walk under rare plant species, and meet some of the amazing creatures that call the creek home.
- Creek Hike participants will walk in the creek with depths ranging from a few inches to three feet.
- Participants must be comfortable walking in a slow current and navigating over fallen logs.
- The creek bed can be muddy and uneven at times.
- Closed-toed shoes with a heel strap are recommended, like water shoes, old tennis shoes, or adventure sandals.
- Participants are encouraged to wear quick-dry athletic clothing or swimwear.
- Participants ages 7+ are welcome.
- Participants under the ages of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- All participants must submit a waiver in advance or arrive early to complete one.
Registration is required for this event. Contact Severson Dells to register for this event. There will be TWO sessions available and limited spaces.
Session One:
- Wednesday, August 6 from 10am - 12pm. (Please arrive at 9:45am to sign the waiver form)
Wednesday, August 6 from 1pm - 3pm. (Please arrive at 12:45pm to sign the waiver form)
Participants will meet at the Shelter House parking lot of Severson Dells Nature Center
To preserve the fragile ecosystem, Severson Dells asks guests to refrain from walking in the creek unless attending a program with Severson.
